Release 4.12 is once again packed with new features increasing efficiency across all 3 modules by enabling 3D file uploads in PLM, quotation of incoming requests via the internal quoting form and automatically creating print jobs by importing Magics reports as CSV!

PLM

3D files handling (Beta)

PLM is on its way to handle 3D files. With this release, the user can now upload, replace or remove the 3D model of a part.

  • When a 3D file has been uploaded, the 3D Viewer allows the user to view the 3D model of the part along with the following options: Wireframe, X-Ray, Support Structure, Perspective View.

  • The computation of scores from the 3D file properties will be included in a next release.

ERP

Create quote from request via internal order form

We moved the creation of quotes from requests into the internal quoting form. As for creating a quote from scratch, creating a quote from a request allows the service user to make any changes to part configuration and pricing before saving the quote.

 

Create Quote update

We removed the option to set shipping and billing addresses when creating quotes for customers in the service panel. The updated form for internal quoting does not include a shipping and billing section anymore, requiring the user to input these details when trying to order an existing quote.

Default filters for tables

ERP tables now have default filters, automatically filtering out cancelled orders, as well as already quoted requests and ordered quotes. These filters are applied when opening any table the first time after logging in.

Updated file naming format

Selecting the order number for the automatic file naming format now also includes the orders version suffix e.g. -O1 or -O3 in the names of the downloaded files.

 

MES

Automatic job creation via Magics CSV import (Beta)

Starting with version 4.12 MES users can test the automatic creation of jobs by importing Magics reports as CSV. Chosen parts and their quantities are automatically read from the imported CSV and added to the MES job automatically. The job creation via Magics CSV import is released as beta version with version 4.12 and needs to be activated by a platform admin. Create Job from Part Detail

It is now possible to enter the job creation mask directly from the part detail page. Simply select the sequence group you want to schedule and start the job creation with the newly added Create job option under more options.

Part history extension

We extended the part history to also include sequence group updates such as scrapping a sequence group or moving it to the next step. Also the creation of jobs is now tracked and displayed in the part history. Part history will be made more explicit in the upcoming releases.

General improvements

  • We updated our system architecture for better support of multi-service platforms by including a service ID in every service-panel URL. The updated URLs allow easier redirecting to the desired pages when entering the platform via mail links or QR code scanning. Service users are not required to select a service before seeing the correct page anymore.

  • Multiple minor bugs were fixed that originated from the table unification in the most recent release.

Bug fixes

PLM

  • In the Part List, it happened that the list of available properties for columns was incomplete. This bug was fixed.

  • A bug was fixed that allowed users to enter negative numbers for the part size property.

ERP

  • A bug was fixed that prevented ordering of quotes that were created by the printing service with manual pricing.

  • A bug was fixed that caused the part volume to only be displayed when an order was updated to in progress. This is now fixed, always showing the part volume on the order detail page, regardless of the orders status.

  • We fixed a bug that caused the wrong company name to be displayed when selecting a user in the internal quoting or ordering form.

  • A bug was fixed that caused displayed of the wrong status dot color for the latest project status.

  • We fixed a bug that prevented the status of a request from updating after quoting.

  • We fixed a bug that caused 3MF & WRL files not being named correctly.

  • A bug was fixed that caused the Edit Order button to not deactivate for non-editable orders.

  • We fixed a bug that caused a mix-up of Total and Total (Net) prices for orders.

 

MES

  • We improved the error messages in the job creation process to give more explicit reasons as to why the job creation failed. More details will be added to the error messages continuously in the next releases.

  • A bug was fixed that caused the “Show finished parts” filter to not filter properly.
