Material Comparison & Recommendation

With this release we deliver to our user a new way of browsing 3YOURMIND Additive Manufacturing material database with the new Advanced Material Comparison now available in Production tab. This allows user to browse the 1,200+ AM material references easily using smart filtering & ordering, helping select and find the right material to manufacture their AM part. As material entries are bind with a technology, it is also now possible to get insights about the manufacturing technology for the screened part.

The Advanced Material Comparison is a table made of:

  • Material name

    • 1,200+ references

  • Material Type

  • Technology

    • All referenced technology in 3YOURMIND platform

  • Key Features (automatically extracted and assigned based on material properties)

    • Biocompatibility

    • Biosource

    • Chemical resistance

    • Corrosion resistance

    • Ductility

    • ESD safety

    • Excellent heat deflection

    • Flame retardancy

    • Flexibility

    • Food safety

    • Hardness

    • Heat resistance

    • High specific strength

    • High stiffness

    • High strength

    • High thermal stability

    • Impact resistance

    • Moisture resistance

    • Transparency

    • UV resistance

    • Wear resistance

Filters help to find the right material given: mechanical properties, type, technology, key features or supplier.

Additional and Updated KPI Cards

We have reworked and extended our collection of KPI cards which we want to offer as default options. KPI cards becoming available with this release are

  • Shortest Lead Time (of all assessed technologies)

  • Best Price (of all assessed technologies)

  • Weight and CO2 estimation (estimated based on new AM part configuration or proposed substitute material)

Digital Inventory Management

Introducing Fixed Prices for Catalog Parts

We are pleased to announce the rollout of a new feature allowing Catalog admins to manually set fixed prices for Catalog parts. This update gives admins precise control over part pricing, ensuring consistency and accuracy across the purchasing process.

Feature Highlights:

  • Manual Pricing Toggle: Catalog admins can now enable or disable manual pricing when creating or editing Catalog parts. When manual pricing is active, admins can input a specific price directly.

  • Seamless Integration Across Systems: Once set, the manually entered price remains consistent through the basket, checkout, and sales transactions, regardless of subsequent price updates to the Catalog part.

  • Pricing Consistency: If a Catalog part is re-ordered from a previous order and the price has since been updated, the new price is reflected in the re-order process.

This functionality ensures that Catalog admins have the tools needed to manage part pricing effectively, enhancing operational efficiency and pricing transparency.

AMPI Analytics Dashboard Updates

With this version we are releasing multiple fixes and improvements to our default PLM analytics dashboard. Linked to the implementation and release of our conventional material database, we have added a pie chart, tracking the original material type of every part submission. This additional chart is available in our default collection of Professional and Professional+ packages.

Bug fixes

  • Fix dimension issue in 3D Viewer

Administration Actions & Information

Upgrading to 24.5 will run data-migrations. This might take several minutes.

Make sure that you backup your database before running the update.

New tooling for managing on-premise setups

3yd.sh is a versatile Bash utility script designed to simplify the management of a standalone Kubernetes cluster and streamline Helm deployments. This tool is particularly useful for system administrators who need an efficient way to handle operations, maintenance, troubleshooting and app management.

Read more about how to use it and its key features here:

The deployment now supports replication

We’ve added support to replicate the pods through deployments. This is useful for:

  1. Allowing for zero-downtime node evictions during Kubernetes Upgrades

  2. Manually scale the pods up to process high loads

For more details, see

Helm Chart Changes

  • The backend had been removed from the helm-chart as the backend pod was merged into the button3d pod

  • The init-jobs that are creating and migrating the database are now running as Jobs (Helm Hooks). This was necessary to allow replication (see above)

  • A option was added to throttle requests to the login endpoints for extra security

  • Many internal logic has been refactored to improve the stability.

  • evaljs was removed from the helm-chart. It was replaced with evalrs in an earlier version.

  • Fixed SSL termination in case an Load Balancer is in front of kurl setup

Hotfix

Speed Improvement for CSV Export of Orders, Quotes, Jobs

We’ve optimized our CSV export functionality to significantly improve performance. On average, export speeds for orders, quotes, and MES jobs have increased by 90%. This enhancement allows you to generate exports more quickly, including larger CSV files spanning extended time ranges.
