Changing part status
Parts can be moved into any status that is part of the configured workflow. For details on how to configure statuses and set up a workflow in AMPI, see Defining statuses and workflows .
Parts can be updated by opening the status dropdown under the parts name on the part detail page. Depending on the users role and permissions, the options in the status-selection dropdown are active or deactivated (greyed out) if the user has no rights to move a part into a specific status. Depending on the configuration of the status, user can be required to place a comment or optionally select a reason for the status update. For details on a statuses configuration options, see Defining statuses and workflows | Configuration options per status .
It is allowed to skip workflow steps when moving a part forward, resulting in the skipped status not being marked as completed on the workflow visualization.
The following non-configurable restrictions for part status updates apply:
Only Expert users can move a part backwards in the workflow
moving a part backwards requires a comment to be placed by the user
Parts can be rejected in any given status, keeping the parts status and adding the notion “Rejected”
Only Expert users can reject parts
