AM Databases
This page is an introduction into the databases used within the 3YOURMIND platform, their structure, references, datapoints and capabilities.
3YOURMINDS AM databases consist of 4 main objects:
The 4 different database tables are cross-referenced:
Every Material in the database has to have at least one Technology assigned that it belongs to
Every Material in the database belongs to exactly one Material Category (e.g. SS316L belongs to category Stainless Steel)
Material Categories are organised in a tree-like hierarchical structure
Technologies inherit their allowed material categories through the individual Materials assigned to them
Post-processings are mapped to their applicable Material Categories (e.g. Heat Treatment is limited to Metals)
Technologies
6 default Technologies offered and used in PLM analysis
Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS)
Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM)
Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)
Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM)
Multi-Jet Fusion (MJF)
Binder Jetting (BJ)
Technologies can be removed from the Part Assessment solution space to tailor the solution space to your organisations setup. For this, simply deactivate the “Used in PLM Analysis” checkbox on any of the technologies you do not want to have included in the assessment.
Note that this will consequently also hide this technology and all materials belonging to it from the AM Part configuration form Configuring your AM Part in the Production tab
Material Categories
452 default and uneditable Material Categories, following the material categorisation system from Michael F. Ashby
Every individual material is mapped to its specific material category, to allow for filtering, drill-down and an effective search
Materials
1203 AM Materials as default - most extensive list of AM Materials and properties on the market
Only Material Title and Price are editable
Custom materials can be added and stay editable
required to be mapped to exactly one Material Category and at least one Technology
To add your own custom materials, visit the Admin Panel section Catalogue Products
Manufacturer information included
Post-processings
32 standard and uneditable post-processings
Mapped to applicable Material types
Split in 4 main Post Processing groups
Material Treatment
Machining
Surface Treatment
Coating and Finishing
Custom Post processings can be created
Selecting one of the 4 Categories and at least one Applicable Material Category is required
