Automatic Assembly Detection for 2D & 3D Uploads

We’re excited to introduce Automatic Assembly Recognition in the 3YOURMIND software, which will enhance Part Identification workflows for 2D and 3D files. This solution solves the problem of users' inability to easily identify whether uploaded files are assemblies, leading to confusion in manufacturability assessments and inefficiencies when filtering irrelevant parts for analysis.

What’s New

  • Auto-Detection of Assemblies:
The software automatically identifies if an uploaded file (3D or 2D) is an assembly and sets the is_assembly property. No manual input required.

  • Clear Visibility in Part List & Reports:
Assemblies are now clearly marked in both the Part List and Part Report. This helps users instantly recognize assemblies without relying on naming conventions or manual tagging.

Customizable Display Order for Materials and Post-Processings

We've upgraded our system to allow Services to strategically order offered materials and post-processings (PPs) in the basket. Previously dictated by alphabetical order, the display can now be customized to prioritize offerings, such as placing best-selling materials at the top of the list. This flexibility is managed through an intuitive drag-and-drop interface in the Service settings, allowing services to highlight preferred options directly to customers. The new ordering is reflected across materials and PPs dropdowns in each line of the internal ordering system and in the basket's material configuration wizard. This enhancement not only streamlines the user experience but also aligns the materials presentation with business priorities, ensuring that key products are immediately visible and accessible to users.

Search by Filename

When searching for projects or sales transactions (requests, quotes, orders), MES parts, or MES jobs, you can now use filenames of uploaded 3D files as search criteria. This enables you to quickly locate and identify projects and orders, as well as specific parts or jobs, involving repeat files. It facilitates a swift review of previous projects helping to prevent duplicative work and further streamline operations.

This functionality was initially released in version 25.1, but due to observed side effects on page loading times, we postponed it to version 25.4 to resolve these issues.

Other Improvements

Enhanced Text Formatting for Catalog Descriptions

image-20250303-102746.png

We've upgraded the Catalog Description field to support richer text formatting, allowing for more detailed and visually appealing descriptions. This enhancement enables easy formatting of text with headers, lists, and line breaks to better convey the features and details of your products. This functionality utilizes Markdown syntax, a straightforward way to implement text formatting, ensuring that your catalog entries are both informative and attractive. This update significantly improves how descriptions are displayed, moving beyond the previous single-line limitation to embrace a more flexible and engaging format.

Deprecation of Product Options Feature

We are phasing out the Product Options feature, which allowed for customization of material names on a per-organization basis. As part of this transition, the ability to create new Product Options was already restricted in version 22.10. Given that we no longer host customers on shared cloud servers, this change will primarily involve backend updates without affecting existing customers. For those who have utilized this functionality, we will ensure that all custom material names are seamlessly integrated into the standard material database, maintaining continuity in the user interface.
