Part Identification

Preferred Technologies

To manage displaying technologies in the user prefer order, Part Identification is now feature with 3 options:

  • Show feasible technologies only (Default)

Filter out from the manufacturability assessment table all Not Feasible technologies (Overall manufacturability assessment at the GOOD level .

Not feasible technologies might still be displayed from the technology selector.

  • Show all preferred technologies

From the admin panel set your preferred technologies that will always been displayed no matter the level of overall assessment. Display will be depending of the chosen order.

All other technologies might still be displayed from the technology selector.

  • Show preferred technologies with matching material class

From the admin panel set your preferred technologies that will always been displayed no matter the level of overall assessment. Display will be depending of the chosen order. Technology that not match the material class will be filtered out.

All other technologies might still be displayed from the technology selector.

New Manufacturability Checks

As part of the updates introduced in24.9, new manufacturability checks are now available.

  • Gap Analysis Check: Assesses the topology of a shape to highlight gaps between surfaces

  • Sharp Edges Check: Evaluate geometry to determine if it contains edges that can be difficult to manufacture with AM without Post-Processing.

  • Cross Section Area Check: ensures that the deposited material meets design specifications. If the area is too large, it can cause defects like insufficient fusion or porosity, compromising mechanical properties. If too small, it may lead to weak joints. Additionally, larger cross-sections increase material usage and production time, impacting efficiency and cost

Misc

  • Provide more space and visibility to the manufacturability assessment table.

  • Set the manufacturability and economics table to a default collapsible view, allowing quick access to key information for decision-making.

Distributed Manufacturing

Search by Filename

When searching for projects or sales transactions (requests, quotes, orders), MES parts, or MES jobs, you can now use filenames of uploaded 3D files as search criteria. This enables you to quickly locate and identify projects and orders, as well as specific parts or jobs, involving repeat files. It facilitates a swift review of previous projects helping to prevent duplicative work and further streamline operations.

This functionality was initially released in 25.1, but due to observed side effects on page loading times, we postponed it to 25.2 to resolve these issues.

Other improvements

Enhanced User Blocking Capabilities

To strengthen platform security and administrative control, we have enhanced Org admins' ability to swiftly block undesired users. Once blocked, these users are permanently barred from accessing the platform and are prevented from re-registering with the same email address. Previously, the ability to block users ("Decline user") was only available when the "Force verify users" setting was enabled.

This update ensures that only authorized users can engage with and utilize platform resources, thereby safeguarding business interests and maintaining a secure and regulated user environment.

Unified Material Naming Across the Platform

To ensure clarity and consistency across our platform, we have standardized the display of material names. Material names are now directly sourced from the standard material database, ensuring uniformity across dropdown menus and tables. Users will see a consistent naming convention that includes the Material Tradename (Supplier), independent of how Services have named the material internally in their offer.

This update simplifies the process of creating and editing catalog parts and configuring parts in Part Identification. While this ensures a standardized display, the chosen material name by Services is still preserved for customer-facing views, such as how materials appear in the basket. This enhancement improves user experience, reduces errors, and provides clearer material information, particularly for operations across Part Identification and Distributed Manufacturing.
