Projects and Project Overview

What is a Project?

A project emerges every time a customer uploads parts with the intention of initiating a request, generating a quote, or placing an order. Each project encapsulates the related requests, quotes, and orders, culminating in the successful completion of a project, which is typically marked by an order that has been paid for and dispatched.

The main objective of these projects is to offer a detailed roadmap, chronicling the journey from an initial customer inquiry to the final dispatch of an order.

From an organizational standpoint, the Project stands a tier above individual requests, quotes, or orders. It consolidates details from these sub-levels, ensuring that users can gain insights from a singular location, thus offering a concise yet comprehensive perspective on vital data.

Navigating the Project List

Users can view the list of active projects via the main navigation bar, by selecting the "Projects" option.

Within this list:

  • Employ the Search functionality to quickly find specific projects.

  • Filter projects as per your needs.

  • Customize the table by choosing which Columns are visible.

The columns Last Transaction, Last Status and Last Date Created show information from the most recent Sales Transaction within that project. Projects do not have a status of their own.

Linking Projects with Requests, Quotes, or Orders

Every request, quote, or order within the service panel is inherently linked to a project. This association can be viewed within the central panel of each of these entities.

Delving into Project Details

By selecting a specific project, users transition to the project detail view. This segment provides an exhaustive rundown of all pertinent actions and elements related to that project. Key highlights include:

  • The information displayed on the top left shows the type of the latest sales transaction - Request, Quote or Order - and its status. Projects do not have an independent status of their own.

  • The table Sales Transactions shows each transaction in chronological order with the most recent transaction being shown on top.

  • An Attachments Table, which presents files from various requests, quotes, and orders, meticulously ensuring the exclusion of duplicates.

  • A section dedicated to Comments from all entities tied to the project, located at the bottom. These comments are systematically organized as per sales transactions.

Enhancing Filter Performance on the Project List

If users encounter sluggish performance or disruptions when filtering projects based on material or technology within the Service Panel, they can opt to deactivate these filters. To do so:

  1. Go to the 3YD Admin Panel

  2. Go to
    Home › B3_Migration › Switches

  3. Create the feature switch DisableProjectsFilters

  4. Activate the switch and Save

Post this procedure, filters for material and technology will be inactivated within the Service Panel.
