Project definition
Whenever a customer uploads one or more parts towards placing a request, a quote or an order, a new project is created. This project houses all subsequent related requests, quotes or orders, towards successfully finalizing the project with a paid-for & shipped order.
Projects facilitate a comprehensive overview of the steps taken from customer request to successfully shipping the order.
In a practical sense, a Project is hierarchical one level above requests/quotes/orders and aggregating all information from lower levels. The project views therefore group all info from individual steps into one place, providing a comprehensive overview of the most important information.
Project list
The project list can be accessed in the service panel through Projects in the main navigation bar.
In the table displaying the active projects
As usual you can search, filter and edit which columns you would like to see.
Project linked in requests / quotes / orders
You can find the linked project in the service panel in every request, quote or order linked in the middle panel.
Project detail view
After selecting a project, you move on into the project detail view. This offers a comprehensive overview of all the relevant activities and objects within a project. On top you can find the latest transaction
All the attachments from the different requests/quotes/orders are shown in the attachments table - filtering out duplicates.
All the comments are also shown, across all requests/quotes/orders belonging to the project, at the bottom of the project detail view. They are grouped per sales transaction.
Performance of the filters on the Project list
If you experience bad performance or even timeouts when filtering the project list by material or by technology in the Service Panel, then you can disable those filters for your users.
Go to the 3YD Admin Panel
Go to
Home › B3_Migration › SwitchesCreate the feature switch DisableProjectsFilters
Activate the switch
Save
Project filters material and technology are now disabled in the Service Panel.
