This guide described how to install the 3YOURMIND machine connectivity.

Prerequisites

  • Access to 3YOURMIND’s Agile MES Admin Panel (minimum of version 3.14)

  • Check which printers are currently supported

  • Printers are part of a network (LAN / WLAN)

  • A list of IP addresses and TCP Ports for all printers which will be connected.

Setup

To connect AM machines to the Agile MES it is essential to establish a stable connection between the software and the printers.

To connect machines it is required that the 3YOURMIND Aggregator is deployed within the printers network. The Aggregator is a small console application that converts data from different printer protocols to a common format.

  1. The aggregator needs to access the printers via network on printer-specific ports. If the aggregator and the Printer are not in the same network, those ports usually needs to get forwarded or whitelisted in a firewall.

  2. The aggregator pushes the data via a REST API to the 3YOURMIND MES on the default ports 80/433. This connection typically does not require additional Network setup.

The aggregator can be deployed on-site on a Windows machine by a network administrator.

Multiple Aggregators must be deployed when the printers are operating in different networks. For this, see Multi-Facility Installation .

The Aggregator must be installed and configured by a network administrator through a config file.
The configurator must know:

  • IP addresses + ports of the printers

  • Printer model types

  • Agile MES service panel ID to connect to

  • An API token of a user that can access the service panel

Steps to connect machines:

  1. Gather a list of printers to connect to (IP addresses, ports, printer types)

  2. Identify a network administrator capable of installing and maintaining the Aggregator in the printers' network

  3. Provision a hardware device for the Aggregator and include it in the printers' network.
(See System Requirements). The hardware device must run 24/7.

  4. Obtain Necessary Information (admin access required)

  5. Setup and Configure the Aggregator

  6. Connect the Machines in the MES
