The Service Panel includes the ability to update both Production Workflow and  Production Target Date from the Order view. This helps the Order Coordinator process incoming orders quicker, especially when managing high-priority orders. Once the Production Workflow has been assigned, the part name will also link directly to the MES Part Detail view for further processing and tracking.

Starting with version 4.9 the target date assignment is automated, always assigning an initial target date to every part once for a part is automatically calculated when the order is accepted . Calculation of the target date differs depending on the parameters chosen during the ordering process. The two different ways of target date calculation are explained below.

Target Date Calculation With Existing Preferred Due Date

If customers select a preferred due date for a part the target date calculation is based on the chosen due date input. The target date is then set to the preferred due date minus the needed shipping time.

Target Date Calculation Without Preferred Due Date

If a preferred due date is not present for parts, the target date calculation utilises the material and post-processing production ranges specified in the service settings in order to calculate a target for finishing production in order to be able to deliver on time. The formula sums up the ranges maximum values of all materials and post-processings:

Estimated Finish Date

With version 4.9 we are introducing an estimated finish date for all parts. The estimated finish date is automatically calculated per part based on the current date, scheduled jobs, open workflow steps, and their default durations. It is visible on the individual part and order detail views, as well as the part list (to come with 4.10) right next to the target date to enable quick comparison between the two. The calculation of the estimated finish date is adding all open default step durations of a parts workflow (default step durations) on top of the latest scheduled jobs end_time to estimate a finish date for this part.
