A project emerges every time a customer uploads one or more parts towards placing parts with the intention of initiating a request, generating a quote, or placing an order, a new project is created. This project houses all subsequent . Each project encapsulates the related requests, quotes or , and orders, towards successfully finalizing the project with a paid-for & shipped order.

Projects facilitate a comprehensive overview of the steps taken from customer request to successfully shipping the order.

In a practical sense, a Project is hierarchical one level above requests/quotes/orders and aggregating all information from lower levels. The project views therefore group all info from individual steps into one place, providing a comprehensive overview of the most important information.

The project list can be accessed in the service panel through Projects in the main navigation bar.

As usual you can search, filter and edit which columns you would like to see.

Project linked in requests / quotes / orders

You can find the linked project in the service panel in every request, quote or order linked in the middle panel.

Project detail view

After selecting a project, you move on into the project detail view. This offers a comprehensive overview of all the relevant activities and objects within a project. On top you can find the latest transaction culminating in the successful completion of a project, which is typically marked by an order that has been paid for and dispatched.

The main objective of these projects is to offer a detailed roadmap, chronicling the journey from an initial customer inquiry to the final dispatch of an order.

From an organizational standpoint, the Project stands a tier above individual requests, quotes, or orders. It consolidates details from these sub-levels, ensuring that users can gain insights from a singular location, thus offering a concise yet comprehensive perspective on vital data.

Navigating the Project List

Users can view the list of active projects via the main navigation bar, by selecting the "Projects" option.

Within this list:

  • Employ the Search functionality to quickly find specific projects.

  • Filter projects as per your needs.

  • Customize the table by choosing which Columns are visible.

The columns Last Transaction, Last Status and Last Date Created show information from the most recent Sales Transaction within that project. Projects do not have a status of their own.

Linking Projects with Requests, Quotes, or Orders

Every request, quote, or order within the service panel is inherently linked to a project. This association can be viewed within the central panel of each of these entities.

Delving into Project Details

By selecting a specific project, users transition to the project detail view. This segment provides an exhaustive rundown of all pertinent actions and elements related to that project. Key highlights include:

  • The table Sales Transactions shows each transaction in chronological order from oldest on top to newest on the bottom.


  • Image Modified

All the attachments from the different requests/quotes/orders are shown in the attachments table - filtering out duplicates.

All the comments are also shown, across all requests/quotes/orders belonging to the project, at the bottom of the project detail view. They are grouped per sales transaction.

If you experience bad performance or even timeouts when filtering the project list by material or by technology in the Service Panel, then you can disable those filters for your users.

    Home › B3_Migration › Switches

  3. Create the feature switch DisableProjectsFilters

  4. Activate the switch

  5. Save

Project filters material and technology are now disabled in the Service Panel.
