3D Model in Part Identification

Since release 4.12 - 2021.09.06 , users can upload the 3D model of a part in Part Identification.

Uploading of the 3D file in Part Identification. The user can also replace or remove the 3D file for a part.

Viewing the 3D Model

When a 3D file is available for a part, the 3D Viewer allows the user to view the 3D model of the part along with the following options: Wireframe, X-Ray, Support Structure, Perspective View.

Click on “Open Viewer” to open the 3D Viewer.

Automatic retrieval of 3D file properties for part scoring

Geometry information about a part is an essential input to conduct manufacturability assessment. Up to now, these pieces of information had to be specified manually for each part, which required additional preparation work before starting analyzing the parts set.

With release 4.13 - 2021.10.04, the geometrical characteristics of a stl file are automatically retrieved and fed into the scores computation. This saves time when creating a part and reduces the risk of errors when entering manually the geometrical values.

Automatic display of 3D file properties within the part detail page

As of our release 23.7, CAD model properties are seamlessly integrated into the platform's Report. This ensures that pertinent CAD model properties are now automatically populated within the corresponding report. This reduces the work stemming from manual data input and informs the user on CAD model properties.
