What is a Project?
A project emerges every time a customer uploads parts with the intention of initiating a request, generating a quote, or placing an order. Each project encapsulates the related requests, quotes, and orders, culminating in the successful completion of a project, which is typically marked by an order that has been paid for and dispatched.
The main objective of these projects is to offer a detailed roadmap, chronicling the journey from an initial customer inquiry to the final dispatch of an order.
From an organizational standpoint, the Project stands a tier above individual requests, quotes, or orders. It consolidates details from these sub-levels, ensuring that users can gain insights from a singular location, thus offering a concise yet comprehensive perspective on vital data.
Navigating the Project List
Users can view the list of active projects via the main navigation bar, by selecting the "Projects" option.
Within this list:
Employ the Search functionality to quickly find specific projects.
Filter projects as per your needs.
Customize the table by choosing which Columns are visible.
The columns Last Transaction, Last Status and Last Date Created show information from the most recent Sales Transaction within that project. Projects do not have a status of their own.
Linking Projects with Requests, Quotes, or Orders
Every request, quote, or order within the service panel is inherently linked to a project. This association can be viewed within the central panel of each of these entities.
Delving into Project Details
By selecting a specific project, users transition to the project detail view. This segment provides an exhaustive rundown of all pertinent actions and elements related to that project. Key highlights include:
The table Sales Transactions shows each transaction in chronological order from oldest on top to newest on the bottom.
All the attachments from the different requests/quotes/orders are shown in the attachments table - filtering out duplicates.
All the comments are also shown, across all requests/quotes/orders belonging to the project, at the bottom of the project detail view. They are grouped per sales transaction.
Performance of the filters on the Project list
If you experience bad performance or even timeouts when filtering the project list by material or by technology in the Service Panel, then you can disable those filters for your users.
Go to the 3YD Admin Panel
Go to
Home › B3_Migration › SwitchesCreate the feature switch DisableProjectsFilters
Activate the switch
Save
Project filters material and technology are now disabled in the Service Panel.
