Machine Connectivity is being developed so that the features within the Agile MES reflect the real-time production information coming from the floor. Initially, this increased level of visibility ensures that production engineers are able to keep their finger on the pulse of production and respond rapidly to changes. But the machine connectivity functionality, riding on the umati standard, is laying the foundation for Agile Manufacturing.
